How to change / reset your password when working remotely
Should you require to change your password while working from home / working remotely, here is a quick How-To to accomplish just that:
Firstly, you will need to be connected to GlobalProtect, our VPN solution
Click on the chevron in the bottom right corner to see all available icons and click on the geyed out "Earth" icon; seen below:
Once you click the icon, the following window will pop up:
Click "Connect" to initiate the connection to the VPN. Note that you do not need to connect to the "Exeter.vpn.paa-inc.com portal", any of our portals will allow you to complete this procedure.
You may be prompted to accept a certificate (See Below), if that happens, just click "OK" to continue connecting:
You will then get the confirmation that you successfully connected, like so:
now that you are successfully connected to the VPN, it is time to proceed with the password change
hit the following keys simultaneously on your keyboard:
Ctrl+Alt+Del
You will then see the following menu:
Click on "Change a Password" to be taken to this screen:
The Username will normally be automatically filled
Your new password needs to match the following rules:
include at least 13 characters
include at least 1 upper case letter
include at least 1 lower case letter
include at least 1 number
include at least 1 special character such as: !"/$%?&*()¨^><:
Once an acceptable password has been entered, you will get the following screen:
Following that, you need to lock and unlock your computer to insure the new password is recognized locally on your computer once you go offline
on your keyboard, just hit the Windows key and L simultaneously to lock your computer.
Once your computer is locked, you can immediately unlock it using your new password
You have now completed all the steps of the process, you can safely take your computer offline and use your new password.
